Shibamata Part I

Finally I've had some time to look through all the pictures I took while my parents were visiting!

It was quite funny how everything was so mesmerizing to them, just like kids at the toy store [Note: My parents were born and raised in Japan but grew up most of their lives in the hick countryside of Northeastern Japan so they're not used to metropolitan Tokyo. Plus, they've lived in the Bay Area for over 35 years so they're the typical laid back Californians].

We went to Shibamata which is of course, the setting for the popular 『男はつらいよ』 movie series..in which the main character is my dad's idol.

Off we go on the Tora-san train

The statue of Tora-san right in front of Shibamata Station :)

Old school pop-and-mom shop

Gateway to the Kaishakten Temple

So many dango shops, yum yum

Pickles store, my favorite

Just couldn't resist...

With my daddy in front of the temple

 Love the retro-ness

 Cat on cat action...hehe
Such magnificent architecture

Pray hard!
