I realized that I need to explain what my blog title means before I make anymore entries lol.
Beauty is in everything and in everyday life - the things you see on your commute, the food you eat, the things you use, the qualities you possess, and the emotions you feel. It might be boring and meaningless to others but it's all about prospective.
With my stressful work life and busy schedule, I thought it would be a good exercise to see the beauty in simple things in daily life. And what a better setting - I have a Western sense (American) of mind since that's what I grew up with; but I also see the Eastern sense of (Japanese) mind because of the setting that I live in (and also my mother hertitage!).
For example:
I love staring at vending machines in Japan. I admit, a pretty boring hobby but drinks get restocked pretty freqeuntly so there's a different variety every so often. When my mind is turned on in the American switch, the selections are quite...wacky. 7 different kinds of vegetable juice? Vinegar drink? Caramel flavored beverages!? But then again, I turn on my Japanese switch and they all seem quite appealing. It's interesting how the mind shifts depending on how you see things. By the way, the vinegar drink is actually refreshing. And Japanese people make wacky sounding drinks actually taste decent. Oh,the boxed cafe ole is a must! :)
Gotta love variety of drinks here in Japan and not just soda, soda, soda, juice, and water like the States.
